Selecting Target Range with Accurate Vital Sign Using Spatial Phase Coherency of FMCW Radar

چکیده

Respiration and heartbeat are basic indicators of the physiological state human beings. Frequency-modulated continuous wave (FMCW) radar can sense micro-displacement in body surface without contact, is used for vital-sign (respiration heartbeat) monitoring. For extraction vital-sign, it essential to select target range containing information. In this paper, we exploit coherency phase different range-bins FMCW effectively that contain accurate signals remote monitoring respiration heartbeat. To quantify coherency, spatial (SPC) index introduced. The experimental results show SPC a range-bin more than conventional methods. This result demonstrates proposed method vital signs by using radar.

Estimating alpine snowpack properties using FMCW radar

Large variations in both snow water equivalent (SWE) and snow slope stability are known to exist in the alpine snowpack, caused by wind, topographic and microclimatic effects. This variability makes extrapolation of point measurements of snowpack properties difficult and prone to error, but these types of measurements are used to estimate SWE and stability across entire mountain ranges. Radar t...

Radar target identification using spatial matched filters

The application of spatial matched filter classifiers to the synthetic aperture radar (SAR) automatic target recognition (ATR) problem is being investigated at MIT Lincoln Laboratory. Initial studies investigating the use of several different spatial matched filter classifiers in the framework of a 2D SAR ATR system are summarized. In particular, a new application is presented of a shift-invari...

A Pedestrian Detection Scheme Using a Coherent Phase Difference Method Based on 2D Range-Doppler FMCW Radar

For an automotive pedestrian detection radar system, fast-ramp based 2D range-Doppler Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) radar is effective for distinguishing between moving targets and unwanted clutter. However, when a weak moving target such as a pedestrian exists together with strong clutter, the pedestrian may be masked by the side-lobe of the clutter even though they are notably se...

Optimizing Single Sweep Range and Doppler Processing for FMCW Radar using Inverse Filtering

We discuss range and Doppler processing for FMCW radar using only a single pulse or frequency sweep. The first step is correlation processing, for which the range and Doppler resolution are limited by the ambiguity function. We show that this resolution can be optimized with an additional inverse filtering step. The method is demonstrated for sinusoidal FMCW radar measurements. Several regulari...
